8/4 x 15 x 38 Figure Quartersawn Sapele

This wide piece was pulled from a run because of the figured grain. It appears like crotch grain that never fully formed. This has caused some minor surface checking on one face that will clean up beautifully with a full 2 1/8" thick piece in the rough. The board is quartersawn with a very consistent ribbon stripe pattern. This will make a real show piece when planed and oiled.
